In 1987, Probat was imported to the United States by Meadowwood Farm. George Altenberg, who owned Probat during his final years said "I never realized a stallion could be so beautiful, particularly in the head and neck, and so gentle ... the sweetest horse I have ever known. … Probat had a wonderful life.
