Armada, sold for $400,000 in 1980. Armada is by Banat
who, while on lease tp Paticia Lindsay, was National Champion
Stallion of Great Britain, Banat's offspring are known to display
exceptional personality, presence, beauty and conformation plus
outstanding athletic ability. His sire line of Krzyzyk is the oldest
continuously used in the Polish programs. Stallions of this strain
have sired leading Polish dams such as: Dziwa, dam of Ofir;
Taraszcza, dam of Negatiw; Carmen, dam of Comet; Canaria, dam
of Celebes; Etna, dam of Etap. Armada's paternal granddam and four
great granddams are five of the most influential broodmares in
Polish breeding history. They are: full sisters Bandola and Arfa,
their dam Balalajka, plus Carmen and Ellora. These five great mares
have produced horses of legendary influence. Bandola produced *Bandos,
Arfa, produced *Aristawa a United States and Canadian National
Champion mare, Ellora produced *El Paso, United States National
Champion Stallion and sire of National Champions, and Carmen
produced Comet. Balalajka will forever belong to the world through
her most prolific, successful son Bask++. These mares will continue
to leave their impressions on the Arabian breed for generations.
